House Of Breaking Glass

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

This was an Emergency/RUSH rebuild!

I've worked with House of Breaking Glass for over 5 years, on various projects including website maintenance. House of Breaking Glass is a Creative Company/Professional Recording Studio that partners with audio, visual, and digital artists.

Recently, the servers hosting the website were hacked and all files were corrupted or deleted. The founder & principal stakeholder used this as an opportunity to redesign the website.

I was tasked with moving the website to a new hosting location, UX redesign of the experience, as well as managing the studio tour video production (coming soon).

This is an ongoing project, media updates will include video studio tour and photography.

STAKEHOLDER'S NEEDS:

The main requirement of the project was to create a recording studio website with a booking page, that was easy to use and up as soon as possible. I built the new website using colors and logo from existing HOBG branded materials.

PROCESS:

I met in person with stakeholder/founder, to discuss timeframe, requirements and urgency of different website features. Recreating a functional booking feature was top priority. New media will be added in future updates.

TESTING/FEEDBACK:

I work directly with the stakeholder and founder of HOBG, to have him test out the site each time I added new features. I also tested and received feedback from some UX design colleagues.

ELFA Make Ready Services

(Site not yet live)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

I was contacted by the operations manager create a website for a new company called ELFA Make Ready Services. The brand design is a work in progress, as there is a time constraint on billable hours. Considering this, I created a simple but functional site that met all requirements and could easily be updated as the company grows. The website is set to launch alongside the company.

PROCESS:

After a consultation about the needs for the website, the requirements and content were shared via email. Then I got to work setting up the site in Wordpress. Once requested pages were done, I took feedback to make any adjustments needed. As requested I will return to this site and make adjustments.

HeartWoods Bonsai & Goods

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

HeartWoods Bonsai is a local nursery and the stakeholder/founder is providing services as well as products.

In anticipation for launch of bonsai classes, the stakeholder wanted new pages added to the site. The stakeholder's supply of goods for sale was reaching a high level. This led to the addition of a shop feature for future-proofing.

PROCESS:

The first thing that happened was a consultation meeting. This is where I got information about the overall feeling the stakeholder wanted to convey with the design. As well as what new features needed to be added. Then I requested all descriptions that the stakeholder wanted to be in her own words. As well as, any pictures of products or featured plants. This made it so I could include or highlight what needed to be, show off the quality of work that comes out of this company, and create an overall polished look that fit with the tone and writing style of the stakeholder.

All the way through the project, I consistently checked in with the stakeholder to make sure any additions were consistent and recognizable with the brand vision.
